How the match is counted
Two Members match on a vote when they made the same choice; only votes in which the Member cast a vote count. The full rules, including group positions and ties, are on the Data and Sources page.
Why two figures for the same Member can differ
In the vote-by-vote view of a Member, a group, delegation or party reference leaves that Member out (for a group, on the votes where the Member belonged to it), so no one is compared against themselves. The ranked list does the same for a group in the current term. For a delegation, a party, or a group in 2014–2024, it uses the full position, so for Members of the reference itself the two figures can differ slightly. A party you pick groups Members by their last recorded party. For 2014–2024 that can differ from Party match, which uses the party on the day of the vote.
